Extended Insight in to Lapidary
This course, run over 1 day, allows you to advance your skills from Insight into Lapidary and extend them to use on different materials. Students must have completed the Insight into Lapidary course.
On this extended course you will cut semi precious stones, such as lapis or jasper, and organic stones, such as mother of pearl or amber. You will be shown two additional polishing techniques:
Diamond Polisher - for precious stones such as lapis, emeralds or garnets.
Jewellers polishing mop - for soft stones such as Mother of Pearl, amber or jet.
Time permitting, you will be able to practice cutting as many stones as you wish and can bring in your own stones.*
*The Academy is able to offer additional stones to purchase on the day of the course. Please note that diamonds cannot be cut during this course.
