Mounting

Mounting is the art of making the framework for the piece of jewellery. This involves handling metal, forming and drilling it to open out holes so that the gems selected for the mount will fit perfectly.

Whether you have never made a mount before or you are in need of a refresher, this course will teach you how to make professional mounts through a proven step-bystep process.

Skills Gained:

You will learn how to gauge the size of gemstones and their characteristics, how to make a  quality mount to display the stones perfectly, the basic techniques of back and front holing, edging and soldering which will allow you to make mounts to differentiate your product and give you the competitive edge. You will be able to make jewellery to fit any size of stone to match any customer request.
