The Art Of Jewellery Design

This is a hands-on, highly creativedesign course run over 6 days and will teach you how to transfer your creative ideas onto paper and to present those ideas to clients without the expense of producing the actual piece.

You will learn how to formulate ideas and designs, put them on paper with preliminary drawing and painting techniques and relate them to manufacturing techniques. Importantly you will learn how the design and manufacture of a piece can influence its price and saleability. A demonstration of technical drawing, presentation painting and how to present you work for different purposes will also be covered.

Covering a wide variety of subjects within the industry this course is not simply about jewellery design, it also gives you some grounding in the history and future of jewellery. 

 

Skills Gained:

You will explore the relationship between available materials and manufacturing methods and analyse how this influences the development of a design. You will discuss the affect the fashion world has had on the design of jewellery, and how jewellery concepts have followed fashion trends.
