Make Your Own Jewellery - Continue at the Bench

This course gives an extended insight into working at the bench in the jewellery trade.  We offer non-experienced beginners a chance to use the professionals tools, torches and coponents of the trade.  By the end of the course you will have produced a sterling silver eight stone ring from silver wire and silver sheet metal.  Also, if you haven't completed the silver ring and pendant from Begin at the Bench course you will have time to do so.

The course will stregthen your knowledge of jewellery production and hopefully inspire you to create your own work, giving you greater confidence, and helping liase with others in the trade.

Skills Gained:

You Will Learn:

  • Extended knowledge of using hand tools.
  • Enforced importance of accurately measuring and marking out silver
  • Continue the process of safe soldering, filing correctly and using the pendant motor effectively.
  • Demonstrating the skills of preparing metal for polishing, using the right mops and polishes.
