Haptic devices have steadily been gaining poularity in industrial design and medical industries over the past decade.  Users literally move a pen around in the air, manipulating and carving into an object on the computer screen.  What makes it so remarkable is the tool 'feels' the surface when you touch it.

ClayTrix is the first haptic sculpture system designed for the jewellery and metalsmithing industries.  It offers an affordable toolset focused on the needs of sculptors working with Rapid Prototyping.

Skills Gained:

You Will Learn:

  • Using the Phantom Omni haptic pen to create and manipulate surfaces.
  • Using ClayTrix's array of tools, including sculpting, surface generation, smoothing and line tracing.
  • Bringing files into and out of ClayTrix from any 3D CAD program.
