Diamond Grading Certificate

This intensive hands-on course will develop your knowledge of practical diamond grading and gem diamond quality. Using your own workspace with a grading lamp you will examine a comprehensive range of loose polished diamonds of various colours and clarity qualities and you will learn to identify natural diamonds, diamond simulants, treated diamond and gem-quality synthetic (man-made) diamonds.
- Skills gained
By the end of the course you will be able to identify diamonds and grade their qualities and you will learn the “jargon” spoken in the diamond industry.
Participants may wish to buy a 10x lens, diamond tongs and a cleaning cloth. These can be purchased during the course.
Eric Emms (tutor) is the leading authority on diamond grading in the UK. He has been identifying and grading diamonds in London since 1978 and is the Director of the AnchorCert Gemmological Office in Hatton Garden.
