National Vocational Qualifications

Holts Academy of Jewellery is leading the sector with the first and exclusive British Jewellery Qualification.  From 2009 for the first time the Academy will offer nationally recognised qualifications in Jewellery Manufacture at Level 2 and 3.

A S/NVQ is a national vocational qualification awarded by the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA).  Unlike A Levels and degrees, S/NVQs are about real skills for real jobs, applied and tested in real life situations.

S/NVQs prove that:

1. You are competent and capable of carrying out the practical tasks required in employment.
2. You have the necessary knowledge and understanding of the principles associated with the work you are required to do.
